Whiteout conditions

A day of heavy drifting and persistent snowfall above 900 metres – very strong East winds also.

Lower areas around 850m with old snow, has become firm and icy, deep drifts in many places especially west facing aspects and any wind shelter places. Some deep drifts and widespread areas of knee deep too.
