Warm and sunny

8th April 2017

A warm sunny day, plus 7 degrees during the afternoon.  The sparse snow softened through the day.

A change in the weather tomorrow (Sunday 9th)

Moderate to strong South-Westerly winds with cloud mist and some light snowfall at summit levels through the afternoon.  The freezing level will remain above the summits.

Although limited, steep snowfields have serious run out potential into boulder fields below.

The summit of Beinn Mheadhoin gaelic for “middle hill” the 13th highest mountain in Scotland. It is also noted for its summit tors; large boulders left by retreating ice sheets at the end of the last ice age.
