Heavy snow showers

16th January 2018

Minus 8C on the summit of Cairngorm and heavy snow showers down to all levels on a brisk Westerly wind.

An extensive knee to thigh deep drift in the sheltered convex area below the group.   Exposed ridges are mostly scoured and icy.

Open coire floors generally scored with a breakable crust, deep drifts forming in lee areas and boulder fields.

Looking across to the Sneachda Morains before the next heavy snow shower.

Another snow shower arrives.
