Sunny, Clear and Cold

21st February 2018

A rare and lovely day on the tops.

The snowpack is pretty solid and frozen and  quite extensive on the plateau, a good cover for ski touring and for walking. It feels pretty exposed though on steep slopes, as any slip or trip wound end up with a big and fast slide !

Great for climbing with crags looking in good condition.

Good snow cover to Ben Macdui from the slopes of Cairngorm

Hells Lum crag at the head of Loch Avon basin.
