Very windy and cold day 3

24th February 2018

Another day of very strong winds.  The old snowpack is firm with steeper slopes having serious run out potential into boulder fields below.  Caution needed where isolated windslab accumulations remain on steep Northerly slopes.   These shear easily and although shallow could potentially knock you off your feet.  This weakness a few centimetres beneath the firm upper layer, continues to develop in the cold temperatures.

Soft weak layer developing, this was on a Northerly aspect at 1110m.
