Arctic Blast Day 3

2nd March 2018

Bitterly cold conditions continue from the East with frequent snow showers and heavy drifting.  Gust of 100 mph were recorded at summit level with temperatures as low as minus 10 celsius.  Drifts are becoming deeper with unstable accumulations developing on steep banks at lower altitudes.  Wind exposed areas are firm and icy.

Serious and challenging mountain conditions
