Blue sky day

19th January 2019

A stunning day to be out and about in the hills, light winds and sunshine.  Underfoot conditions are variable; Although the mountains look white it is mostly a thin cover of snow; however  deep drifts of firm windslab have developed in some areas, enough for it to be a bit of a slog if your the one breaking trail.  Many climbers were making the most of conditions, some reporting that more ice screws were required due to the amount of water ice in the gullies.
