Warm and windy day 2

19th April 2019

Another warm day with hazy sunshine.  Strong Southerly winds were gusting over 50mph at times and summit temperatures rose to plus 9 degrees Celsius by the afternoon.   Largest expanses of spring snow are mostly above 900 metres around corrie back walls and on the plateau.  The snowpack is soft and thawing, shaded North facing slopes are firmer, debris from cornice collapse was noted on a North facing slope in Coire an Lochain.
