Warm and windy day 2
19th April 2019
Another warm day with hazy sunshine. Â Strong Southerly winds were gusting over 50mph at times and summit temperatures rose to plus 9 degrees Celsius by the afternoon. Â Largest expanses of spring snow are mostly above 900 metres around corrie back walls and on the plateau. Â The snowpack is soft and thawing, shaded North facing slopes are firmer, debris from cornice collapse was noted on a North facing slope in Coire an Lochain.
