Reset to Wind Again with Avalanche Activity

26th February 2020

Following the glorious day yesterday today was return to strong winds especially on the tops. The blanket of soft snow has been rapidly distributed onto all East aspects overnight and during the day. This has become hard windslab and therefore feels firm and secure. Beware though that this overlies a very weak buried layer which can be triggered. The images below illustrate an avalanche that has released on this weak layer.
