A day of Avalanche activity

1st March 2020

Strong Southerly winds and heavy drifting were a feature during Saturday night.  Westerly winds through the day with the arrival of heavy snow showers by early afternoon.  Avalanche debris from recent activity was observed late morning on this NW facing slope at 1100m below Mess of Potage.  If anyone out there has anymore details re timings and if it was triggered etc. please could you report the avalanche and fill in the details on the SAIS website. https://www.sais.gov.uk/report_avalanche/

Thanks to those who reported a triggered avalanche this afternoon which happened on a NE aspect whilst descending the Cas Ridge this afternoon afternoon.
