Slow consolidation

14th December 2020

Covid-19

The Scottish Avalanche Information Service would recommend that those wishing to enjoy the winter mountains refer to Mountaineering Scotland and Scottish Government advice regarding Covid-19 and outdoor activities.

The snowpack continues to slowly consolidate in the mild and fluctuating temperatures. The snow line has crept up the hillsides a little, but the cover remains good above 800 metres. Deep and wet snow for the most part, but not a problem for this Ptarmigan who was making fast progress up the Fiacaill a’Choire Chais.
