Persistent snowfall across the Cairngorms throughout the day. Â This fell down to glen levels. Â Gale force winds with blizzard conditions at 500 metres. Â A sizable avalanche was observed at 550 metres on a South-West facing slope this morning. Â Weaknesses persist at depth beneath widespread accumulations of windslab. Interesting to see that the Drumnochter section of the A9 now seems to have a considerable avalanche hazard
