A thawing windy day.

15th April 2022

A mild Southerly airstream with thaw conditions.  The snowpack is soft at all altitudes  and is most widespread above 1000 metres on coire back walls, some of the lower grade gullies and the plateau.  Below this altitude snow cover is patchy, with ribbons of snow running down some shallow gully lines.  Although sunny for a large part of the day at lower levels, a cloud cap representing strong winds hung over the Northern corries.

Widening rivers from snowmelt. A cloud cap hangs over Coire an Lochain.
