Dry with fleeting spells of sunshine
7th April 2017
A dry day with moderate Westerly winds. Â The freezing level rose to just above the summits around midday. Â A sparse snowpack, with greatest amounts on the plateau and coire back walls. Â Steep Northerly facing slopes softened through the day. Â Ice axe very useful if venturing onto steeper patches of snow, as runouts are serious with boulder fields below.
A dry day expected for Saturday with sunny spells and moderate to strong Westerly winds. Â Freezing level will remain above summits throughout.
