A cloudy day on the tops and at plateau level so could not see extent of snow cover. Still mostly a very thin cover on all Northerly aspects but with some soft and deep drifts. Better on East to South aspects.

A moody Loch Morlich with Catle Hill papering out of the mist.

Poor visibility and navigation with map and compass on the Cairngorm plateau.

Tension failures on a north east aspect at 1100 m – slab overlies a weak layer at depth. Natural avalanche activity has run on this layer on steep N to NE aspects above 1000m.
