Bands of cloud
7th December 2020
Covid-19
The Scottish Avalanche Information Service would recommend that those wishing to enjoy the winter mountains refer to Mountaineering Scotland and Scottish Government advice regarding Covid-19 and outdoor activities.
Complete snow cover in the Cairngorms with varying depths and consistency. Â Cruddy conditions at lower levels but once above 1000 metres where it’s cooler the snowpack is much drier and less heavy going. Â A bright start to the day with sunny spells above the bands of cloud which obscured the hillside below. Â By early afternoon visibility became quite poor as more cloud develop followed by the arrival of snow.
