Covid-19

The Scottish Avalanche Information Service would recommend that those wishing to enjoy the winter mountains refer to Mountaineering Scotland and Scottish Government advice regarding Covid-19 and outdoor activities.

Spells of sunshine during the morning.  Cloud and hill fog developed by midday in the increasing South-Easterly winds.  Superb snow cover in the Cairngorms.  A widespread breakable crust has developed below 1000 metres.   Above this level some areas are covered in soft snow which overlies a thin friable crust.
