Mild and mizzly

2nd February 2022

After a short spell of cooler temperatures the freezing level rose to above the summits during the morning. The winds were more manageable today than of late with average summit speeds of around 40 gusting 60 mph.  Ribbons of thin ice are surviving along with patches of firm snow.  Debris from recent rock fall was observed in one of the major gully lines and below some of the buttresses.
