Whiteout Christmas

25th December 2022

A mild day with drizzle and rain at  900 metres and above. The snowpack has become very moist and instabilities deep in the snowpack at high elevations have mostly improved. Some residual instability may be present in the deeper accumulation above 1000m in some places though, but these should dissaoear as the snowpack refreezes overnight and Boxing Day. Very poor visibility above 1000m.

The Northern Corries from Loch Morlich with morning light.

Cairngorm Reindeer have a break after a very busy night!
