Cairngorm Plateau

12th February 2023

Thankfully today the wind eased to allow for an explore onto the plateau. The images below give a good indication as to the current snow cover. North through East to South East slopes were holding the greatest amounts of snow.

(Above) Looking towards Ben Macdui from Cairngorm. It was possible to avoid snow patches for some of the journey today, although we did encounter more extensive areas of snow where crampons were necessary.
