Strong SSE winds.

8th April 2023

Very light snowfall on strong SSE winds crossed the mountains during the morning, this soon cleared to leave a dry day.   After cooler overnight temperatures the snowpack is quite firm especially on Northerly aspects, and where steep there is a serious run out potential into rocks below.  No precipitation is expected over the next 24 hours; however the SSE winds are expected to increase to storm force during Sunday.

The clouds capping the Cairngorms are an indication of strong SSE winds.
