Westerly airflow

14th December 2023

Wintry conditions continue in the Cairngorms.  Soft thawing snow at lower levels, a breakable crust developing at mid mountain, cool drifting snow at summit levels from the strong Westerly winds.

Coire an Sneachda.   Some drifting can be seen above the goat track.

Looking down the Cas ridge, just before the rain arrived. Conditions were firm at around 1000 metres.

Views looking across the Cas ridge, Coire an t- Sneachda beyond.
