Mild

12th December 2024

Another day of high pressure and inversion conditions.  Below freezing at glen levels first thing and midday summit temperatures of around 6C.  The snowpack became softer on sun facing slopes as the day progressed.  Shaded aspects remained icy with a breakable crust.  Significant amounts of rime ice coated the buttresses earlier in the week but now they look quite bare after yesterdays mild temperatures.

Looking South, Beinn Mheadhoin to the left, Loch Etchachan can be seen in the distance.

The Fiacaill Chais, Fiacaill buttress, Lochain behind.

Soft snow on sun exposed slopes.
