Variable conditions

1st February 2025

A beautiful morning in the Cairngorms, albeit a bit blowy in places.

Cover remains good above 700 metres but there is a huge variety in the underfoot/ski conditions.  Ice, breakable crust, pockets of windslab, sticky snow, rocks and everything in between.

Not much change expected tomorrow but an easing in wind speed will be a welcome break, although the mild temperatures will not be particularly welcome.
