British summertime begins

30th March 2025

Westerly winds gradually eased after a blowy night with gusts of up to 125 mph at summit levels. The freezing level fluctuated around the summits, mild tomorrow as the freezing level rises to well above the summits with highs of plus five Celsius expected during the afternoon; and so, British summertime begins!

Clouds finally lifted by mid afternoon for views of Coire an t- Sneachda,  Coire an Lochain to the right.

Snow patches most widespread above 1000 metres.

Walking with a strong North-West wind behind made up hill progress less arduous.
