Soft windslab

15th March 2025

The morning improved as summit cloud gradually lifted.   Many folk were heading out onto the plateau to make the most of the snow.  Some drifting was encountered at higher levels with isolated accumulations of soft windslab developing on Easterly aspects, these are generally avoidable and confined to steep and convex terrain.  High pressure expected to continue into early next week.

Looking across the Eastern slope of Cairngorm towards Beinn Mheadhoin.
