a brief interlude

7th January 2026

There was further snowfall during the night with strong winds.  Light Northerlies during the day, with light snow showers.  The snow is soft and deep and unconsolidated, making progress on foot arduous.  Today there was a brief interlude as the clouds lifted to reveal the landscape ahead.

At 650 metres, walking into Coire an t-Sneachda.

Snow shoes were OK but still sank in the deep snow.

Slow progress, wading into the corrie.

The path ahead.

The general landscape at 700m.

A brief window in the clouds revealing Sneachda the Fiacaill ridge and Lochain.
