A day of flat light

9th January 2026

Occasional snow showers on light Southerly winds with poor visibility above 900 metres.  Little change from yesterday’s snow conditions, apart from better stability in some locations; however there in plenty of deep soft snow to drift if and when the windspeeds increase.

Views looking South from the Fiachaill a Choire Chais ridge.

A foggy view of the Fiacaill Coire an t-Sneachda.

This crampon was found on the Fiacaill a Choire Chais ridge. Its now in the ranger base at Cairngorm mountain ready to be re-united with its owner.
