A stormy day in the Cairngorms

11th January 2026

Strong winds made any attempt to get up high quite futile, so here are some images from lower elevations.
The freezing level gradually increased during the day, reaching summit levels around 6pm and due to get warmer overnight

Lots of wet snow to contend with lower down….
