A variable snowpack

13th January 2026

There was continuous light snowfall through the morning with poor visibility.  By the afternoon the clouds lifted to reveal the mountains. Underfoot conditions are variable.  The snowpack is a mix of breakable crust, firm weight bearing or soft and punchy.  Paths are icy in places especially where well trodden.
