Gales and snow continue
23rd January 2026
The South-Easterly airstream continues with gale force winds and snowfall above 600 metres. Poor visibility above 750 metres with significant drifting. Wind speeds eased a little through the afternoon, but in general they were anything between 40 and 60mph.
On a North facing slope at 500m, evidence of recent snowpack instabilities, mostly likely during the last thaw.
