Drifting snow

15th February 2026

A considerable amount of drifting occurred last night on the gale force South-Easterly winds, which continued through the majority of the day.  Wind sheltered locations started collecting any unconsolidated snow whilst any wind exposed feature is now well scoured.  The winds started to ease during the morning but the cloud stubbornly remained around summit height which prevented high plateau views.  However, cover will not have changed much from yesterday’s blog photos.
