Some Visibility

7th February 2026

A bit of visibility today enabled some travelling about to make observations on snow distribution. Unfortunately still flat light and poor visibility above 950m. Large cornices and bodies of snow are present above 900m. Rising temperatures and rain below 1000m will load steep slopes and cornices, so there will be a period of instability during Sunday. Cornice collapse and the triggering of slopes below is a likely scenario to be aware of!
