Tail end of storm Dave

5th April 2026

The worst of the storm was during the night, with heavy snowfall on storm force Westerly winds. The highest recorded gust was recorded at 107 mph at around 3am.  Currently there is a widespread friable crust, this is supportive if traveling on ski but not for those on foot. Today felt like a typical winters day with further heavy snow showers at all levels, these are expected to peter out during Sunday night.

Below Mess of Potage there was debris from surface instabilities which happened during the rise in temperature overnight.

A general view looking North from Coire an t-Sneachda. Most of the landscape is covered in snow which currently has a thin friable crust.
