A Southerly winds day.
7th January 2023
There were some brighter spells during the morning, but the cloud lowered to around 1000 metres by the afternoon. A variable snowpack, soft snow at lower altitudes, but higher up a breakable crust was encountered, this combined with soft snow in some of the boulder fields made travel quite arduous when off the beaten track. Although its been quite mild recently, corrie back walls are still holding onto plenty of snow.
