Clear and Calm – crusty snowpack

22nd November 2025

Rain to all levels overnight has affected the snowpack which is now moist to depth, rather than dry of last days – this will help with the consolidation of the snowpack. Cooler temperatures and a gradual refreezing also helps of course, but has given us a hellish breakable crust everywhere! Difficult knee deep plugging on foot and challenging for ski turns unless your as light as a feather and can stay on the surface!. Can’t complain though, a beautiful calm day with a settled snowpack that has given us a good base and which can only improve.

Looking toward Loch Morlich from the ski area.
