A day of milder temperatures than of late but still feeling cool in the North-Westerly winds.  Old windslab accumulations have become firm, but helpful and grippy when traveling by ski.  Large  expanses of very hard snow ice remain above 900 metres.  This was especially notable on steep slopes where loosing a ski edge or a slip would be of serious consequence.
