Mild and Windy

17th December 2014

Quite a contrast from yesterday when we had -7 degrees centigrade and strong winds which made it very cold. Today 0 degrees on the summits and very mild although windchill kept the apparent temperature cold.

Snow is soft and melting at all levels, but this will help greatly with consolidation especially with colder temperatures forecast which will firm the snowpack considerably tomorrow afternoon.
