A day of sunshine

29th January 2017

Light winds and cloudless skies apart from patches of localised hill fog.  A mix of deep drifts and scoured areas, superficial snow lies on all aspects at lower levels.

Descending Coire Raibert, deep windslab on the East side.

The Shelter Stone Crag

Loch Avon, Carn Etchachan and Shelter Stone Crag.

Bare ground on this West facing slope as the group descends.

Cracking underfoot, due to firm windslab overlying soft layer beneath – on an E aspect at 975m

The plateau, with Ben Macdui in the distance
