Good light snow cover above 800 metres, hard going in windy conditions though. Bitterly cold in wind. Soft windslab developing on SW to NW aspects above 900 metres. Unstable snowpack above 1000m in steep places where the harder  windslab is overlying a very weak layer just above the old hard snow. A much improved cover for skiing prospects.
