Above The Clouds

12th March 2018

Good snow cover.  The warm conditions and then colder temperatures has firmed up the snowpack – crusty in places. A spectacular day with inversion conditions. Muggy  and poor vis below in the cloud band.

A leviathan like Beinn Mheadhoin rising out the sea of cloud.

Cairntoul, Angels Peak, Braeriach and the Northern Corries from Cairngorm.

Panorama of the Plateau.

The boiling pot of Coire an t Sneachda.

Surface hoar crystals covering the snow
