The Scottish Avalanche Information Service would recommend that those wishing to enjoy the winter mountains refer to Mountaineering Scotland and Scottish Government advice regarding Covid-19 and outdoor activities.

 

Today was a very different day to yesterday. Significant snowfall and lots of drifting on strong wind with poor visibility, The snow turned to rain at lower elevations during the day.

New snow on the sheltered side of the rocks at 900 metres. None of this was here yesterday, indicating windslab is building rapidly in wind sheltered locations.

Further indication of wind transported snow, taken slightly higher than the previous picture.

The ski area with more snow but less visibility than the same photo yesterday.
