Firm underfoot

12th December 2021

Milder damp temperatures at all levels overnight.  Cooler during the morning with summit temperatures of around minus 1C.  Although it didn’t feel particularly cold there were sub zero temperatures in the glen.  This mainly affected the roads which had developed some interesting patches of black ice!

Some snow loss below 800 metres but in general the firm snowpack is widespread.

The Cairngorms this morning.
