A winters day

15th February 2022

Cool conditions with drifting snow and occasional snow showers.  Summit temperatures were around minus 5 degrees C.  A widespread breakable crust has developed after Monday’s freezing rain.  This has formed a fine glaze over the terrain and is weight supporting at higher levels.

Drifting snow and a firm crust at 950 metres.

RAF MRT practice avalanche rescue.

Coire an t-Sneachda looking wintry.

Fine icicles hang from the pylons.
