Cold and windy

After the overnight milder temperatures the snowpack has developed a widespread crust which is icy on wind exposed terrain. Â Although the boulder fields are beginning to fill in with firm snow and ice, there is still the potential to break through the crust and go into a deep hole!
Another day of gale force winds with drifting snow. Â Later in the afternoon, snow showers fell to as low as glen levels. Â Heavy snowfall expected during Tuesday accompanied by gale force winds.
Looking up the Ciste Gully. West facing slopes are wind scoured, windslab developing again on East aspects.
