Gloom from the North

14th February 2022

Northerly winds with fluctuating temperatures.  Snow, rain and sleet at various altitudes. During the morning a widespread friable rain crust developed.  Cooler temperatures through the afternoon with light snow showers.  Poor visibility with the cloud base at around 600 metres, occasionally down to glen levels.

Conditions at 900 metres.

A coat of frozen rain

A shallow covering of new snow above 800m.
