A thin cover of new snow

16th March 2022

Light winds with occasional snow showers, poor visibility at plateau levels for a large part of the day.  There’s a thin cover of new snow above 900 metres, this overlies a firm crust.

Some views through the gloom looking down the ski area from the Cas Headwall.

Looking down towards the Sneachda path from the Fiacaill a’ Choire Chais ridge.

Visibility on the plateau at midday. Underfoot conditions at this altitude are firm and icy with a thin cover of new snow.

At the 1141 metre cairn.  A novel no wind day when items can be casually left lying around without blowing away…

…and filming can commence minus the threat of being blown over.

Coire an Lochain made an appearance by mid afternoon.
