A soggy day

13th March 2022

Another mild day with gale force South-Easterly winds, heavy rain turned to sleet and snow above 900  metres.  Soggy underfoot conditions, a combination of running water, slush or soft wet snow with thigh deep post holing where unsupported.   Collapsing cornices, rock fall and wet snow avalanches remain a potential hazard!

Slushy underfoot conditions walking into Coire an t-Sneachda.

The climbers decided to retreat and return another day.

To the cafe.

More climbers head to the cafe.
