Wet to Showery…

11th March 2022

The sort of day when given the choice you wait for the worst of the weather to ease before heading out. Wet and windy, gales up high, improved through the day to showery and brighter periods…at least at lower elevations. Inevitably the snowpack was wet and thawing. Isolated wet snow instabilities reported on steeper ground for anyone heading higher up. Rock fall was also reported.

Looking forward, calming down a bit with fresh to strong southerly winds, summit snow this evening and down to slightly lower elevations during the day tomorrow. Fresh windslab forming, check out the full report for details.

A very wet start heading on to An t-Aonach.

Exploring the mainly saturated snowpack.

Allt Mor burn with Lurchers Gully and Peak in the distance.
