Rising temperatures.

11th April 2022

Rising temperatures accompanied by gale force South-Easterly winds.  The strength of the wind was much worse at car park levels due to the nature of the terrain.  Drifting snow above 1000 metres.  New accumulations have developed on W to N aspects in the most wind sheltered locations.  Apart from wind exposed areas such as ridges, good snow cover remains above 700 metres, below this level its becoming thin and patchy.  Mild conditions are set to continue with more snow loss expected.  Rock, icefall and cornice collapse will be a potential hazard.
